Russell Means Krebs ist zurueck gekehrt....und der bekannte Aktivist und Schauspieler kaempft um sein Leben.
Ich persoenlich glaube dass es nicht mehr lange dauert bis Russell seine Reise in die Spiritworld antritt. Vor ein paar Tegen wurde Russell aus Scottsdale, AZ nach Rapid City, SD zurueck gebracht wo er nun im Rapid City Regional Hospital liegt. Mitglieder von AIM (South Dakota Abteilung) bleiben an Russells Seite bis zum letzten Atemzug.
Ich werde euch natuerlich auf dem laufenden halten....sobald ich die Nachricht von Russells Ableben erhalte, werde ich es euch weiterleiten.

On Monday the family of Russell Means released an email revealing that the American Indian Movement veteran is again fighting cancer.

While sent by his family, the content of the email was written by Means, in the first-person.
Here is the text of the email:

"Hau Mi Takuyeyapi, hello my relatives.

I know many are concerned about my health and I want to thank you for your strong prayers and for all the ceremonies taking place on my behalf.

On August 20, I learned I have new cancer spots. I am in Scottsdale, AZ where I have fantastic medical teams utilizing both alternative and western applications. We are working toward a good solid program that will enable me to come home to my ranch on the Pine Ridge Sioux Indian Reservation within the next few weeks.

I am sorry I am not available for comments as I need all of my energy to fight for my life once again. I love you and look forward to regaining my life.

May the Great Mystery continue to guide and protect the paths of you and your loved ones.

Wir werden sicher noch eine Würdigung seines Lebenswerkes in unserem Thread "Biographien und Nachrufe" aufnehmen.
Auch wenn ich persönlich nicht immer in Harmonie mit extrem ruhelosen Menschen stehe,
so ist es doch das Gesamtwerk und die Spuren die er hinterläßt, die einen Menschen ausmachen !

Russell Means begann gestern seine letzte Reise auf dem Oglala Lakota Gebiet

Er wurde von einem herrenloses Pferd und den traditionellen Bigfoot Riders begleitet.
Seine Trauerfeier fand in der Little Wound High School im Pine Ridge Reservat statt.
Die Zeremonie wurde vom Sundance Chef Leonard Crow Dog geleitet, der auch spiritueller Führer des AIM `s ist und der Means seit 1959 kannte.
Crow Dog sagte : „ Means 'Seele reist über vier Tage in den geistigen Bereich, in der Lakota Tradition ist das als Happy Hunting Grounds bekannt.“
