irgendwie bin ich auf die Liste der New Mailverteiler der eaglewatch@npogroups.org gekommen.
Und diese Zuschrift fand ich gestern, dessen Inhalt ich als wirklich sehr schlimm betrachte.
Daher hab ich beschlossen , diese hier wenigstens einzusetzen:

Die wenig bekannten heiligen Hügel der Indigenen in Toronto's High Park sind
unter Beschuss. Ihre Hilfe ist nun zum Schutz und zur Wiederherstellung erforderlich.
Die Situation wird immer kritischer jeden Tag, z.B. das Biker die Grabhügel für ihren Sport nutzen.. Die Polizei von Toronto erledigt nicht ihre Aufgabe, um zu verhindern das die Biker dort ihre Fahrrampen in dem Stadtpark im mittleren Westen von Toronto, in der Nähe von Lake Ontario, in unceded Ongwehonwe Gebiet veranstalten und ihn verschmutzen
.. Die Knochen und der Staub unserer Ahnen und der heiligen Hügel werden geschändet.

Rastia'ta'non: ha, Direktor der Taiaiako'n Historische Preservation Society
und andere Personen benötigen Ruhe zum arbeiten und zum identifizieren, um den Schutz der Dämme für einige Zeit zu wiederherzustellen.
Sie bitten um Hilfe und Unterstützung das diese Informationen in der gesamten
internationalen Gemeinschaft verbreitet werden .

Dieser Kampf, um unsere heiligen Grabhügel zu bewahren und zu schützen, geht schon über viele Jahre . Es gibt Vereinbarungen und Verträge die mit unseren
Menschen im Laufe der Zeit gemacht wurden, dies führte uns zu der Annahme, sie würden auf die heiligen Erde achten, wo unsere Vorfahren gelebt haben.
Wir haben schon in einer Zeremonie diejenigen, die auf die vergangen entfernen
anderen Seite ruhen umgebettet, so das sie eine friedlichen Ruhestätten behalten. Es ist ein
Verletzung der Kaienera: Kowa, die friedliche Ruhestätten unserer Vorfahren zu stören


Wir haben ernsthafte Bedenken, das die Zerstörung des Snake Mound in
High Park negative Auswirkungen auf die künftigen Generationen nimmt.
Egal, welche Maßnahmen wir ergreifen oder Worte, die wir sprechen, sie haben eine Wirkung, entweder negativ oder positiv, auf die nächsten kommenden sieben Generationen.

Diejenigen, die diesen heiligen Ort zerstören, haben keinen Verstand.
Sie wissen nicht , das negative Dinge denen widerfahren werden, die diese Zerstörung auch weiterhin tun. Sie kümmert sich nur über ihre fünf Minuten der Selbst-Befriedigung ihrer Fähigkeit durch die Luft auf ihrem BMX-Rädern zu fliegen

Die Stadt Toronto hat vor langer Zeit mit den Onondaga bei den Sechs-Nationen-Grand River über die heiligen Stätten in High Park eine Vereinbarung getroffen, zur Pflege der heiligen Ruhestätten unserer Vorfahren..

Diese Vereinbarung ist am Snake Mound nicht eingehalten worden, der derzeit in einer
Zustand der Zerstörung durch BMX-Biker sich befindet. Sie denken, sie haben ein Recht diesen ökologisch und kulturell sensiblen Bereich auszuverwischen.
Niemand gab ihnen das Recht !

Wir fordern nun die Hilfe und Unterstützung aller Völker der Welt ein,
uns bei zu stehen, um ein Ende dieser Zerstörung und Schändung von Put-
diesem ganz besonderen heiligen Ort zu erreichen. Dieser Ort ist so heilig, dass hier regelmäßig
Menschen aus ganz Turtle Island hergereist kamen.

Unsere Leute brauchen dringend ein solches Zentrum für die Wiederherstellung unserer
Kultur, Geschichte und Einheit.

Die HPACC High Park Advisory Gemeinschaft beantragten in einem Brief am 04.Mai
2010, die zerstörerischen Aktivitäten der Schmutz Biker zu stoppen.
Nichts ist geschehen.
Die City of Toronto muss einen andere Platz für diese Jugend zum spielen finden.
Die kanadische Regierung muss die heiligen Hügel in High Park als Naturschutzgebiet.

"The little known sacred Indigenous mounds in Toronto's High Park are
under attack. Your help is needed NOW to protect and restore
them. The situation is becoming more critical every day as dirt
bikers are using the mounds for sport. Toronto police fail to do
their job of preventing dirt bikers building ramps and driving in the
city park in west-central Toronto near Lake Ontario in unceded
Ongwehonwe territory. The bones and dust of our ancestors and the
sacred mounds are being desecrated.

Rastia'ta'non:ha, Director Taiaiako'n Historical Preservation Society
and other individuals have been quietly working to identify, restore
and protect the mounds for some time now. They ask that these words
requesting help and support be disseminated far and wide throughout
the international community.

This struggle to preserve and protect what is left of our sacred
mounds has carried on for many years. There are those within the
colonial governments who have made agreements and treaties with our
people over time. This led us to believe that they would take care
of the sacred earth where our ancestors have lived and the same earth
that also contains their spirits and sacred special things that were
never meant to be disturbed or moved for any reason. Many times when
our ancestors were buried, certain medicines were placed
with them, that would cause great harm to those who would disturb
their peace later.

We do not have a ceremony to remove those who have passed on to the
other side and place them in a different place, out of the way so
that development can go on on their peaceful resting places. It is a
violation of the Kaienera:kowa to disturb the peaceful resting places
of our ancestors.

We have serious concerns of how the destruction of the Snake Mound in
High Park will impact negatively upon the future generations.
Whatever actions we take or words we speak, have an effect either negatively
or positively on the next seven generations of coming faces.

Those that have destroyed this sacred place have no mind. They don't
care about what negative things will befall those who have supported
this destruction and continue to do so. They only care about their
five minutes of self-gratification of their ability to fly through
the air on their BMX bikes.

We have been informed of the sacred agreement that the City of
Toronto made long ago with the Onondaga at Six Nations Grand River
over the sacred sites in High Park. The newcomers agreed to take
care of the sacred resting places of our ancestors in High
Park. They agreed not to let any harm come to them or molestation of
our sacred sites happen.

This agreement has not been kept as the Snake Mound is currently in a
state of almost being obliterated by BMX bikers who think they have a
right to destroy an environmentally and culturally sensitive area. No
one has given them this right!

We are calling upon the aid and assistance of all peoples everywhere,
to stand with us to put an end to this destruction and desecration of
this very special sacred place. This place is so sacred to us that
people from all over Turtle Island traveled here regularly long ago.

On July 15, 2010 at 11am, Rastia'ta'non:ha and other dedicated people
made a monitoring visit to the Snake Mound at the south end of High
Park. He reports, "We found more holes dug, a lot more earth moved
and more ramps made since July 4, 2010. We also observed that many
of the trilliums that were there in the spring are now destroyed due
to new ramps being built. We also witnessed a toad struggling to
maintain a home in among the freshly moved earth.

"At approximately 11:21 am, two bikers arrived and climbed the fence
by the duck pond. They retrieved three shovels from the other side
of the fence. They then proceeded to dig more ramps while we were there.

"They were asked who gave them permission or a permit to do what they
are doing and they replied, "No one did."

The dirt bikers were informed of by-law 608-29 sec c. prohibiting the
building of ramps within the park. They stated that the ramps had
been there for a long time and the area was already destroyed. They
were informed that we had documentation and photographs showing that
in fact the ramps have not been there for a long time. The ramps that
are there now are newly erected this year as they were all taken down
last year. They also tried to blame the city for the destruction to
the trees. We have circulated pictures showing clearly destruction
done to the trees by the bikers who have built ramps illegally."

Contrary to what some colonial "experts" will tell you, we know that
our ancient sacred mounds were built by our ancestors, Indigenous
people of Turtle Island some 3,000 years ago or more. These mounds
have not only been burial places but have also served as cultural and
ceremonial centres.

We know that when this sacred place is respected and preserved for
what it is, this will set a precedent that will reach far and
wide. Our people desperately need such a centre to restore our
culture, history and unity.

The HPACC High Park Advisory Community Council issued a letter on May
04, 2010 requesting that the destructive dirt bikers activities
stop?? Nothing has been done. The City of Toronto must find another
place for these youth to play. The Canadian government must
designate the sacred mounds in High Park as a protected area. Who is
going to stand with us to put a stop to this illegal, destructive
environmental and cultural activity??

ich bin auch irgendwie in diesen Verteiler "geraten" und habe ebenfalls gestern die Meldung erhalten. Auch ich halte sie für sehr wichtig und wollte sie heute hier einstellen. Da warst du schneller als ich. Danke für die Unterstützung. Ich bekomme im Moment so viele Informationen zu allen möglichen Projekten und Aufrufen, dass ich sie kaum bearbeiten kann. Mohawks removing High Park bike ramps with city's help

A half dozen Mohawks with picks and shovels have set up camp in a south corner of High Park to restore what they contend are ancient burial grounds.

Deep valleys and ramps cover the grounds, called Snake Mound by the natives although it’s been a BMX bike area for six years.

“We’re prepared to stay as long as it takes to bring down these jumps,” said Harrison Friesen, 39, a Cree from northern Alberta who lives now in Toronto.

“We’ve been trying for 11 years to resolve this with the city.”

City records detail bones removed from the site in 1922, said Friesen.

The Taiaiakoân Historical Preservation Society has been negotiating with the city for years over the site, one of 56 ancient native burial mounds in High Park, said spokeswoman Laurie Waters.

“This isn’t planned as anything confrontational,” said Waters. “Our job is to be protectors of the Earth. We don’t want to claim ownership. The land is for everyone to enjoy.”

Knowledge of the burial mounds, placed to line up with constellations, has been passed down through oral traditions to the clan mothers of the Six Nations Reserve, said Waters.

The city has provided a concrete tool shed for the native workers, said Friesen. Once the land is restored, said Waters, the city has agreed to fence and replant the area.

“We are very happy we reached an agreement with the city and something will be done,” said Waters.

A Mohawk flag flies over the park site where a camp fire burns to help the workers keep warm. The natives arrived Friday and expect to be there a month, said Friesen.

Some BMX bikers had stopped by but backed off when they saw the flag, said Friesen of the activist group Red Power United.

Yesterday, May 13, 2011 , was a very beautiful, sunny, hot day at the Snake Mound. People from City Parks, Trees, Environment,Toronto Police, Red Power United, THPS, representatives from Six Nations, BMX representative Scott Mills ,other Indigenous and non-Indigenous Supporters gathered, to establish a cooperation and working together, on the restoration of Snake Mound. This was a monumental in our history and long time struggle to preserve this site from further desecration. We also want to say Niawen gowa for all of media support we received yesterday.

We are all very happy about yesterday, and many of the women that were there actually did the first work in breaking down some of the illegal bike ramps. We say Niawen gowa for all that came yesterday to help and support in their own way, and all those who have donated tools, money, food , tents, tarps, and etc for the men while they are there. The City is also going to bring in a tool shed that will store the tools needed to continue the restoration work. If you have some time and would like to show your support, we encourage you to stop by the site and see what you can do to help the men that are there doing the restoration work. There is much work ahead that needs to be done, and any and all assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Ein neuer Konflikt zwischen Indianer in Wisconsin und Staats- Republikanern hat sich zugespitzt.
( d.h. seit die Republikaner die Kontrolle über die Legislative des Staates zurückeroberten ,
läuft die Entwicklung gemäß der Amtszeit von Gov. Scott Walker;

Im jüngsten Aufruhr sind die Ho-Chunk und die anderen einheimischen Stämme in Wisconsin gegen das `Lobby`..Gesetz- Bill 620,
was den aktuellen Rechtsschutz für Native American Grabhügel beeinflusst.
Dieses Gesetz folgt dem Muster der Gesetzesänderungen im Jahr 2013, zugunsten des Eisenerzabbaus und zum Nachteil der
traditionellen Gebiete der Bad River Band ( Lake Superior Chippewa).

Die Wisconsin Stämme, vor allem die Ho-Chunk verweisen darauf, dass die Ahnen Grabhügel hier durch eine indigene Hochkultur,
im Volksmund als die Hügelbauer bekannt, konzipiert wurden.
Die Ho-Chunk, Nachkommen der Hügelbauer sehen jede Störung der Ahnengrabhügel als ein Affront gegen ihre Lebensweise an
und eine Bedrohung für die Erkenntnisse welche künftige Generationen benötigen um die Gesundheit des Planeten zu gewährleisten.
